Week 7: The Soccer Challenge

July 31, 2007 · No Comments

Now this week we’ve had our share of fun.  Canoeing, Tennis, Mountain Boaring, Candle making, and so much more.  I’ve even seen quite a few campers enjoying the final Harry Potter installment during their free time.  It’s been a great week!  However this week we enjoyed a special treat.

On Wednesday we had a special soccer game between our friends at Camp Triple C in Charlottesville and our own soccer playing staff.  It was a real exciting game to watch.  Campers were all gathered around the field and we even brought down the snack bar for those who wanted a little something while watching the game.  The game was so close that neither team scored, pretty close wouldn’t you say?  I believe we’re planning a little rematch.

Well today I’ll be leaving with Challenge on the Rock Climbing trip and hope to bring you all some great photos.  I only have time for one day of adventure personally but it’ll be a blast I’m sure.  We are headed over to Great Falls for their first day of climbing.  Be on the look out for those photos., and don’t forget to check out this weeks photos.

We’ll see you next week.

Week 6: A HOT ONE!

July 23, 2007 · No Comments

What a hot week this has been.  While we did get some heavy rain this week the sun still came out in full force for most of the week.  No worries though we were at the ready with plenty of water at every station and always our trusty water bottles in hand.

This weeks’ water activities where very much encouraged so that everyone had a chance to cool off and relax at the pool or lake.  We had plenty of takers on the water fun this week with activites like, canoeing, kayaking, diving, lake swim, and pool swim.

While we did try to stay out of the heavy sun this week that didn’t stop us from having fun.  Arts and Crafts was going at full swing as well as the Archery Range in the more shadowy areas of camp.

While this coming week seems like it will be much cooler we’ll still be ready with water bottles in hand.  Here at Camp Friendship the fun doesn’t stop because of a little rain or too much sun it just takes a detour.

We’ll see you next week.

PS - Don’t forget to check out this weeks photos over at the gallery.
