Camp Friendship is on the Road Again!

This will be a huge camp fair weekend for all of us. We are going to be all over the place on Saturday and Sunday. Let me give you a quick rundown of the weekends events. On Saturday we will be in Richmond VA, Dulles VA, Cooksville MD, Wilmington NC, and Paris. Yes indeed, you heard right, Camp Friendship will be visiting Paris on Saturday the 7th of February. I’ll have to sign up early for that camp fair next year. On Sunday we will be in Raleigh NC, Dulles VA, Columbia MD, and finally Charlottesville VA for the Albemarle Family Camp Expo. It’s going to be a very busy weekend so we hope to see you all there.

On top of all these great summer fun events this weekend we’ve finally set a date for our Annual Open House on April 18th, 2009 from 12-3p.m. I’ll be making a more official post with more details about this event in the very near future but I wanted to give everyone a nice heads up. So mark your calendars and come see us.

Learn about a Virginia Summer at Camp Friendship

Guess what we are doing this weekend?! That’s right! We are on the road yet again, visiting Pennsylvania and a few stops around Virginia. This is the time of year we get up and go go go! Our Assistant Director, Sam, is currently traveling around Wilmington DE and McLean VA. She’ll be ready to answer your questions and tell you why camp is such an important opportunity in every child’s life. Our owner/founder Chuck Ackenbom and his son Ray Ackenbom our director will both be in Virginia at a American Camp Association sponsored camp fair. They will be ready and able to tell you everything you want to know about camp. Our directors have over 50 years of camping experience combined so bring on the hard questions, we’ll be ready.

While we are all traveling around and visiting with you there’s so much still happening at camp. Camp is preparing for a variety of groups coming to use our facilities this week and even more in the coming weeks. While it’s still a bit chilly out here it will start to get warm before we know it. Spring will be here and we’ll be that much closer to summer. It really is an exciting time every year. Programs are starting to fill up and our Spring Riding Weekend dates are fast approaching. Summer Camp is Coming To Visit!

Last weekend we had a great turn out in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and this weekend we are at it again. We are visiting North Bethesda, Maryland this weekend and then next week we will be visiting Berwyn, PA, Wilmington, DE and Raleigh, NC. There’s no stopping us now, it’s go time! Come out and see us we are looking forward to meeting new campers and their families, and of course past families are welcome to stop by to say hello. We always love to see familiar faces. I will be out in Maryland myself with our Assistant Director Samantha Leonard. We are both very excited to meet all of you. Sam and I will be at the fair for eight hours so we’d love to spend the time talking about what we love, CAMP!
